1. Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all hair and makeup services provided by Sara Chisholm Artistry. By paying the deposit or full payment, the client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

2. General Provisions

  1. Sara Chisholm Artistry operates as an independent contractor and not as an employee of the client.

  2. Any amendments to this Agreement must be made in writing and agreed upon by Sara Chisholm Artistry.

  3. The deposit or full payment must be paid at the time of booking to secure the date.

  4. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the client and Sara Chisholm Artistry and supersedes all prior arrangements, whether written or verbal.

 

3. Bookings

  1. A non-refundable and non-transferable deposit is required to secure a booking:

Individual mobile bookings- 50% deposit; remaining balance due on the day after services are completed.

Mobile group bookings (2+ people)- 50% deposit; remaining balance due 7 days before the appointment in one payment.

Weddings- 50% deposit; remaining 50% due 4 weeks before the wedding date in one payment.

In Studio bookings- Full payment is made at time of booking.

  1. Bookings are not confirmed until the full payment has been received.

  2. Deposits and payments are non-refundable.

4. Booking Times

  1. A start and finish time will be agreed between the client and Sara Chisholm Artistry. Each service requires approximately one hour for makeup or one and a half hours for hair and makeup.

  2. All persons receiving services must be ready and available at the scheduled time.

  3. All services for more than one person must occur consecutively at the same location.

  4. Failure to attend at the agreed time constitutes a breach of this Agreement, and any deposits or monies paid will be forfeited.

  5. Sara Chisholm Artistry is not responsible for delays caused by the client or their party.

 

5. Booking Changes

  1. Once a booking is secured and the deposit/ full payment has been paid, any change requests must be communicated as soon as possible.

  2. Sara Chisholm Artistry will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes but is not obligated to do so.

  3. If agreement on changes cannot be reached at least 48 hours before the original booking, the booking will be cancelled (refer to Section 13 – Cancellations).

  4. If someone in the client’s party cancels, the total quoted amount remains unchanged. Another person may be substituted in their place.

  5. If a delay is caused by the client or their party, this may affect service completion.

  6. If the booking exceeds the scheduled time by no fault of Sara Chisholm Artistry, an overtime fee of $50 per 30 minutes will be charged and invoiced the following day.

 

6. Additional Charges

  1. For mobile bookings a travel fee will be added. Travel starts at $50 for Gold Coast areas (excluding Hinterland) and will increase depending on time and distance to and from service location. Toll fee’s will be included in travel fee.

  2. Parking: Any applicable parking fees will be charged to the client.

  3. Airfare and accommodation: If required, all travel-related costs (airfare, hotel, transport, parking) are payable by the client.

  4. Early morning fees: A $50 fee applies for bookings before 6:00am.

  5. Assistant fees: For bookings of six (6) or more people, or where time is limited, an assistant and/or additional artist may be required and charged at the same rate as the primary artist.

  6. Additional charges: All assistants and/or additional artists incur the same travel, toll, and overtime fees as outlined above.

 

7. Satisfaction Guarantee

  1. Services will be completed to the client’s satisfaction within the agreed timeframe.

  2. Acceptance of the completed service constitutes acknowledgment that it meets the client’s expectations.

  3. Any dissatisfaction must be expressed before the end of the appointment.

  4. Failure to do so releases Sara Chisholm Artistry from all liability, and no refunds will be offered after completion of services.

 

8. Trial Makeup

  1. Trial sessions are available upon request.

  2. Trial appointments are limited to two (2) hours.

  3. Fees for trial sessions are charged at Sara Chisholm Artistry’s discretion.

  4. A trial must be booked for all wedding bookings.

 

9. Service Location and Requirements

Mobile Bookings

  1. The service location is chosen by the client but must meet minimum requirements:

    • A suitable table or workspace for setup.

    • Access to working electrical outlets.

    • Adequate lighting (natural or artificial).

    • A high chair or bar stool if possible.

  2. Parking at the venue must be provided by the client.

  3. Sara Chisholm Artistry and/or additional artists will not perform services in bathrooms.

  4. If the workspace is unsafe, unsanitary, or unsuitable, services may be refused, and payments will not be refunded.

In Studio Bookings

  1. Clients arriving 15 or more minutes after their scheduled appointment time will be deemed as a cancellation. All payments made will be forfeited.

  2. Children are not permitted to attend in-studio appointments.

  3. Clients may bring a guest to their appointment. Clients are responsible for the conduct of their guests at all times.

  4. Clients and their guests are only permitted access to the studio area. Access to other areas of the property is strictly prohibited.

  5. Clients are responsible for any loss or damage to the studio and other areas caused by the client or their guests.

  6. Sara Chisholm Artistry accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of any personal belongings belonging to clients or their guests.

  7. Clients acknowledge that appointments are conducted from a residential property where a cat resides. Sara Chisholm Artistry accepts no responsibility for any allergic reaction or discomfort from the cat.

 

10. Health and Safety

  1. Services will not be performed on wet hair.

  2. Clients must arrive with clean, makeup-free face.

  3. Sara Chisholm Artistry reserves the right to refuse service to anyone displaying symptoms of illness or contagious conditions.

  4. All tools and brushes are sanitized between clients.

  5. If the working environment is unsafe or unsanitary, services will be terminated immediately.

  6. Aggressive, inappropriate, or illegal behaviour from the client or their party will result in immediate termination of services without refund.

  7. Children must be supervised at all times and kept away from the work area in mobile setting.

  8. Sara Chisholm Artistry accepts no liability for any injury to a child, whether supervised or unsupervised, at any time during the booking.

 

11. Limitation of Liability

  1. Sara Chisholm Artistry is not liable for delays or non-performance due to illness, accidents, acts of God, or other events beyond control.

  2. Sara Chisholm Artistry is not responsible for any claim, loss, damage, or injury to any person or property arising directly or indirectly from its services.

  3. Sara Chisholm Artistry is not liable for any allergic reaction, known or unknown, informed or not informed.

  4. Any damage caused to equipment or products by the client or their party must be reimbursed on the day of service.

  5. Sara Chisholm Artistry is not liable for work completed by any substitute artist, assistant, or additional artist engaged for the event.

 

12. Payment

  1. Final balance is due as follows:

Weddings- 4 weeks prior to the event.

Mobile group (2+ people) booking- 7 days before the appointment in one payment.

Mobile bookings 1 person- After services are complete, on the day.

In-Studio bookings- Full payment at time of booking.

  1. Payment must be made in one transaction via bank transfer unless otherwise agreed.

  2. Cash payments must be made before services begin and only if pre-approved.

  3. The person paying the deposit is responsible for all remaining payments.

 

13. Cancellations

  1. In the unlikely event that Sara Chisholm Artistry cancels due to circumstances beyond their control, another artist will be arranged where possible.

  2. If no replacement is available, all deposits and payments will be refunded within two (2) weeks.

  3. Sara Chisholm Artistry reserves the right to terminate this Agreement for any breach of these Terms and Conditions.
